World Cancer Congress

Du 31/10/2016 au 03/11/2016
En bref :
The World Cancer Congress, an award winning conference, brings together highly motivated and talented individuals who are committed to reducing the cancer burden and advancing the collective knowledge the community has accrued over decades to increase survival rates and minimise the impact of the disease. Delegates represent United Nations agencies, international organisations, national governments, academia, patient groups, the private sector, cancer societies, media and advocacy groups, who share experiences, knowledge and perspectives to become better informed on advances being made across the full spectrum of cancer control – from health promotion and prevention, through to early detection, diagnosis, treatment and care. Renowned experts from the cancer and NCD community contribute to an innovative and interactive three-day programme which forms the basis for what is now seen as the leading international conference in cancer implementation science. Recent World Cancer Congresses have enjoyed remarkable levels of delegate satisfaction with 98% saying that they would recommend the event to a colleague. The Congress aims to explore the diversity of the way in which cancer is tackled from one country to another. Whether it be addressing risk factors like tobacco use, attitudes towards HPV vaccinations, the availability of population-based screening, treatment approaches, regulatory frameworks for opioid-based pain relief or the priority of cancer on the national health work plan - each country takes an individual stance, based on a number of factors relevant to their setting. The World Cancer Congress is a platform which aims to explore this diversity and afford delegates the opportunity to see their challenges through the eyes of others through a multifaceted and dynamic programme. Such insight, inspired by the passion of the cancer community, helps us all do a better job tomorrow than we do today.
